Dress Canvas Class to be Rescheduled

As most of you know, Jackie has been having some back and leg pains lately. I spoke to her yesterday and she was actually feeling better- first time in three weeks. As much as we can't wait to have Jackie back in the classroom, it is best we give her time to completely heal. Therefore we will be rescheduling Jackie's dress canvas class that was scheduled for tomorrow, Thurs. June 27th. We will have it sometime this summer and let you know as soon as we have scheduled a date. We will post the new date on the blog and maybe some of you who wanted to take but had conflicts with the original date, will be able to attend the rescheduled date.  Thank you in advance.

We will be calling those who signed up for the Lil Firecracker class also.

Budding Young Artists

Yesterday concluded our session of Kid's Camp for June. It was a small but talented group and we have lots of fun getting to take it easy, create more projects and eat better snacks- first things first ; )

Here is a sampling of what these creative girls came up with this week.

If you missed out on Kid's Camp this month we will be offering a session in July and August. The cost for 4 days of Kid's Camp is $200 and includes all supplies- and apparently so tasty snacks. As you can see, the artwork is quality pieces. I try to come up with projects that I would want to hang in my home. I'm a firm believer that displaying kiddos art work is such a confidence booster.

I have been holding Ki's Camp for about 5 summers and can honestly say I am amazed each time at what the kid's create. I just provide the supplies and space- they are the artists.

Space is limited so to sign up, simply call the store at 405 848-2389.

We've had a little break from classes but it will be nice to get back in the swing of things tomorrow.
Bobbie will be teaching Miss Independence tomorrow, June 18th at 5:30. There are still a couple of openings left but you need to call and reserve your class seat today. Cost is $45.00 and includes all supplies.

Keep your fingers crossed, we should have some new goodies arriving this week from some new vendors. On several we will be the only OK distributor so you will want to check it out . I guarantee you will love it and it will be a fresh perspective to your scrap booking and paper arts projects.

Our Woo Hoo Wednesday item is one of our favorite brands- My Mind's Eye. All MME products will be 30% off this Wednesday only. It's a great chance to stock up on one of the scrapbook industries most innovative brands.

A celebration is coming soon- could it be a royal birthday?!!

New Look

Graphic 45 definitely has it's own "look. " Usually dark rich colors, stem punk and big patterns. The newest line definitely has a very different feel. Bright cheery colors, reminiscent of an Indian sari. We love it and I think you will also.

We also received the Graphic 45 Halloween line so if you are that fair ahead just let me know and I will pull it out for you.

The sale brand this month is Authentique and there is still a pretty good selection of  paper for a dime and 60% off embellishments.

June session of Kid's Camp begins Monday, June 17th.
It's not too late to sign up!

Round 2- Hope for Oklahoma

Round 1 was such a success and so many generous artists were wanting to help that Hope for Oklahoma is now in round 2. The online facebook auction runs through Friday, June 14 at 7pm. For those of you in the OKC area, it appears we won't have to contend with tornadoes or flooding in the closing minutes of this auction- thank goodness.

Paper Crown girls Robin Thomas and Heather Ales  have once again generously contributed to this auction. There are lots of pretties so I encourage you to check out the auction, it is going towards a very worthy cause and one near and dear to our hearts.

Heather came up to OKC last Saturday to deliver the proceeds from round 1 of Hope for Oklahoma. I am very happy to say a portion went to our very own "singing clerk" Cheri. She and her husband Alan were overwhelmed by the generosity. Cheri commented that May 20th was one of the worst days of her life but ironically, also one of the very best. Cheri has a very strong faith and said she has seen her God in the faces and actions of all those who have helped. Thank you!

As you can see no baby yet but if Grant has not made an appearance by Sat., Cheri will be induced on Sunday for the most perfect " Father's Day."

Go check out Hope for Oklahoma 2 and remember " bid high it's helping our neighbors!"

I also wanted to let you know about another project that Paper Crown is involved in to help those affected by this spring's tornadoes. I was contacted by a customer, Abbey, who was collecting scrapbook supplies for those who lost their homes in the storms. I gladly jumped on board and the boxes have been arriving.

We have received boxes from VA, CA, AR, CT to name a few. If you live in the area, we are a collection spot so please bring by your donations. If you want to help from out of state, donations can be mailed to Paper Crown, 9303 N. Pennsylvania, OKC, OK 73120. We will be collecting for a while and will have a weekend "store" set up in the back for those affected to choose what they would like. If you know of someone who enjoys scrap booking or crafts and lost their home in the storm please let us know. Thank you in advance for your generosity and help.

A Guy Who Creates

If you are a Tim Holtz follower you are going to love this post. We have all of Tim's latest and greatest to give your project that "industrial chic" feel. Metal pieces galore, fragments, cabinet cards, distress inks and reinkers, new paper line French Industrial, and my two new favorites- the alarm clock and locket.

My sister and I learned early on that Daddy wouldn't go " sky's the limit" on clothes, dolls or jewelry but if we asked for anything mechanical, we hit the jackpot. A bike, mixer, washing machine- I actually got a knitting machine from my dad when I turned 3 . Dad clearly disregarded those recommended ages on gifts or used that opportunity to practice his math skills and multiply it by 3. Nevertheless, Tom Payne civil engineer, would have loved Tim Holtz and I would have had a full collection by the age of 5.

Come check out our huge selection of "scrapbook engineering products"- guess I did get a tiny bit of you after all Dad!
